Students arriving after that time must be accompanied to the office by a parent to sign him or her in to school. Students arriving after 7:45 will be marked tardy.

In order to insure that your child maximizes his opportunity to attain a quality education, good attendance is essential. The state attendance law reads that children may be temporarily excused from school when:

• They are personally ill and when their attendance in school would endanger their health or the health of others.
• There is a serious illness or death in the immediate family that would necessitate absence from school.
• Special and recognized religious holidays are observed by their faith.
• They are prevented from attendance due to conditions rendering school attendance impossible or hazardous to the student’s health or safety.
• Court order
• Service as page in legislature
• Absence to vote in election
• Up to 5 days excused absences per year to students whose parents are in the military and are being deployed or on leave.

A written excuse for each absence is necessary and should be brought to the teacher on the day the child returns to school. Teachers are happy to provide make-up work for students who will be absent more than two days provided that the absences are excused. Students who are absent one or two days will be given make-up assignments when they return to school. Requests for homework should be made by 10:00 through the front office.

*Early Dismissal
Please note that if parents need to pick up a child during the school day, they should come to the Front Office and sign the child out on the Sign-Out sheet. Photo ID is required from all adults signing student out of school. The child will be notified to come to the office for early dismissal. Parents should not go to the classroom for the child.
